Indirect Tax Associate Full-time Job

The opportunity

We are seeking enthusiastic, results-oriented people with Indirect Tax (VAT) knowledge to join our team. We need motivated individuals who are keen to progress their career and broaden their experiences.

You will have the opportunity to work across multiple client projects within our diverse client base (across a number of sectors) – where no two days will be the same – as well as gain invaluable insights in terms of domestic, EMEA, and global operations and business models. It’s all about helping our clients meet their tax obligations while making a positive impact on their business.

Your key responsibilities

Working as part of our Indirect Tax team, you will focus on delivering robust VAT advisory solutions.

• Support the execution of advisory projects, encompassing all stages of the engagement (e.g. data gathering, review of accounting systems/reports, drafting client reports, preparing presentations for client meetings etc.).

• Draft formal and informal correspondence to clients, engagement teams and the tax authorities.

• Stay informed of current economic developments and related business and industry trends to serve clients effectively.

• Continuously develop technical knowledge (e.g. EU VAT Directive, Romanian Fiscal Code).

• Develop awareness of EY’s global network.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Academic degree in economics/finance or related field;

• Previous professional experience in a similar role would be an advantage;

• Proficiency in English;

• Fluency in Romanian language.
