As a Data Scientist Advisor on the Artificial Intelligence team, you will be a key player in developing and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions that transform healthcare. You will work with a talented team of data scientists, engineers, and healthcare professionals to solve complex problems and improve patient outcomes. You'll be challenged and empowered, and you'll be given the resources and support you need to make a real difference.

**Responsibilities:**

* Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to address healthcare challenges such as fraud detection, predictive modeling, and patient risk stratification.

* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.

* Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform model development and business strategy.

* Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and statistical techniques, and iterate on models to improve accuracy and efficiency.

* Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, reports, and visualizations.

* Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence, and apply them to improve our capabilities.

* Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance on best practices.

**Required Qualifications:**

* Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.

* 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles.

* Strong programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.

* Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.

* Proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Experience in the healthcare industry.

* Experience with natural language processing (NLP) techniques.

* Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

* Experience with Agile development methodologies.

**Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only:** The salary range for Colorado residents is $110,200 to $211,700. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $121,300 to $232,800. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
