As an H&R Block Tax Office Lead, you are the front-line ambassador of our brand. DAY-TO-DAY:

As a Tax Office Lead, you will:

Prepare complex Federal and State Tax Returns for Individuals & Small Businesses while explaining tax information to the client in a way that is understandable and reassuring.
Develop strong relationships with clients by discovering their needs and providing a consistently exceptional experience, while providing ongoing, year-round tax and financial advice and growing your client base.
Provide strategic guidance and insight that promotes confident financial futures, while leveraging resources available to enhance offerings in personal taxes, small business taxes and other specialty products.
Guide client interactions from start to finish and use technology with speed and precision. Effectively managing complex client experiences including multiple family members or business relationships, resolving discrepancies, and working with challenging clients.
Oversee daily office operations, including scheduling appointments, monitoring work product of all Tax Preparers, delegating work and responsibilities effectively, coaching team members on client interactions and office procedures and problem-solving under limited guidance and direction.
Manage inventory of key resources in office as well as implement brand direction into location execution and oversight, including upholding security standards.
Understand our products, build value by assessing opportunities for offering solutions to existing clients and new business by sharing knowledge.
Serve as tax law experts within the tax office.
Promote the brand and exceed growth objectives with an entrepreneurial mindset and provide top quality client experiences, ultimately growing a client base by networking and creating an impactful brand that clients choose over the competition.
Prepare clients’ taxes by gathering all relevant information.
Ask probing questions to correctly prepare tax returns, advise clients and answer their questions.
Ensure all forms are completed in accordance with regulations and company policies.
Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

To qualify for this position, you:

Must hold an active IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have completed a minimum of two tax seasons, preparing at least 30 tax returns per year. OR minimum one tax season (preparing 30 tax returns) + meet our required competency testing as an advanced level tax preparer. (Assessment provided at no cost upon qualification).
Are licensed or certified at the state/federal level OR are enrolled to practice with IRS and/or are an Enrolled Agent.
Are proficient in navigating technology with dual monitors.
Pass a background check.
Hold (or complete within 30 days of hire) the Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) certification and license with the IRS or meet an equivalent experience and tax education standard.
