Summary:
An entry-level position under close supervision where the Field Engineer is training and developing fundamental downhole drilling and operational knowledge.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Actively participate and be compliant in HSE initiatives and requirements as well as Quality Standards, Safety Meetings, Behavioral Observations.
• Actively perform Pre-Job and Post-Job checklist including reporting, billing accuracy, job ticket validation, invoicing as per the Company Standard requirements.
• Actively perform and monitor tools & equipment QA/QC, shipping & handling for each wellsite. Ensure 100% accuracy in documentation. Follow up if deficiencies identified. Immediately raise the issue to FSM / operations management
• Develop fundamental technical drilling principles knowledge to properly advise onsite crew during rig operations, wellsite preparation, operations of Downhole drilling tool. Adheres to procedures of Apex product deployment in any service line provided in that area and well application.
• Monitor / ensure data accuracy for quality control during rig operations. This includes tool programming parameters (if required by the technology), bit selection, bottom hole assembly, drilling parameter analysis, depth validation & QA/QC logs
• Active participant and presenter during Job Review meetings.
• Participate in internal meetings as per Company Standard.
• Engage in well planning and assist in preparation, review, and distribution with operations personnel
• Demonstrates a clear understanding and proficiency for Apex Technology / Downhole Tools by following best practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Assist operations management with Standard Operating Procedure updates for tools/programs
• Follow standard processes & procedures for Tool failure troubleshooting and resolution; and, with necessary operations / engineering support perform RCI. Actively provide Lessons Learnt with Operations Management/ FSM’s/ Account Managers.
• Actively participate with Field Specialists / SME to troubleshoot / test, repair Apex technology tools at Wellsite when & if failures arise.
• Engage / Provide active participation in field trials with other Field Service members.
• May perform any other duties/responsibilities as required, or directed by the Drilling Solutions FSM
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Good knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience: Drilling / Downhole experience with MPD experience
• Language skills in both written and spoken Arabic.
• Minimum three-years of verifiable and directly related experience within the oil and gas industry.
Working Conditions:
This position is primarily based at a remote job site.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to climb a ladder of at least 30 feet in height
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and twisting.
• Ability to work on a computer up to 8 hours per day
