Records Specialist\n\nJob Location: St. Louis, MO 63103\n\nSummary:\nWe are seeking a Records Specialist to manage and maintain physical and digital records. The ideal candidate will have experience in records management, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. They must be proficient with systems required to maintain electronic health record (EHR), and ensure quality in documentation.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n•\tOrganize and maintain physical records, ensuring they are easily accessible.\n•\tScanning, uploading, and indexing paper records into digital format, ensuring clarity and accuracy\n•\tClassify and code records according to established guidelines.\n•\tMaintain logs to include release of information, subpoenas, etc\n•\tEnsure compliance with HIPAA standards and organization policies on medical information protection and patient privacy.\n•\tMonitor data to confirm records meet department and organizational policies on content and patient/employee safety. Prepare documentation or data compilation as requested by Director, Sr. Specialist, or Compliance Manager\n•\tAssist internal/external customers with questions concerning release of information in the appropriate formats and timelines.\n•\tComply with federal, state, and local regulations, and accrediting body standards, organizational policies, and professional standards and guidelines\n•\tPerforms duties in a timely manner meeting department requirements to accurately resolve requests in the electronic record or scanned record. Maintains accuracy.\n•\tAssist the staff on documentation/operational workflows\n•\tAnswer inbound department phones assisting hospital personal in the maintenance of the legal health record\n\nSkills and Competencies:\n•\tProven experience in records management, including physical and digital records.\n•\tProficiency in using document management systems and software.\n•\tKnowledge of records management principles and practices.\n•\tFamiliarity with healthcare data management policies, clinical information systems.\n•\tKnowledge of Microsoft office including Excel, Powerpoint and Word\n•\tStrong understanding of security practices for handling confidential and protected health information\n•\tStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\n•\tAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information.\n•\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\n\n\nEducation and Experience:\n•\tHigh school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in Healthcare preferred\n•\t2-4 years of experience in records management or a related field, preferably in a healthcare setting.
