Organizational Context: These jobs are found in Country Offices (CO), Regional Bureaux (RB), and Headquarters (HQ). The Job holders typically report to a more senior Logistics Officer or the Supply Chain Officer.
Job Purpose: To support an efficient and effective logistics operation, ensuring timely delivery of food assistance and other relief items, in line with the organizations Supply Chain strategy and the humanitarian reform agenda.
Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive):
Support logistics operations, including warehouse management, transport, or customs clearance, and procurement.
Ensure adherence to logistics procedures and established WFP standards and norms, internal control procedures, review compliance monitoring reports and recommend improvements as necessary.
Document, prepare, update and maintain records and reports related to logistics activities, including the status of store’s materials management plans; identify discrepancies and propose/take corrective measures to address them. Manage routine communication/correspondence with internal or external stakeholders (such as transporters, storekeepers or logistics service providers), to address general and standard logistics issues and escalate complex issues to supervisors. Prepare standard financial calculations (costings, estimations, forecasting) and contribute to budget preparation.
Monitor performance of logistics operations to measure key performance indicators and contribute to improvement of the performance indicators.
Receive and check all transport documentation and escalate issues or discrepancies for appropriate action.
