The Jr. Oracle Application DBA is responsible for installing, configuring, patching, and maintaining all non-production applications Oracle Databases. Position Responsibilities: Perform technical tasks including design, configuration, patching, installation, performance monitoring, and debugging the non-production environment and ensure optimal performance Troubleshoot, repair and correct incidents and issues with the non-production environment Provide daily management of production & non-production databases Create all non-production databases on appropriate storage in conformance with storage allocation requirements Apply appropriate patching/upgrades to databases, including database creation or relocation Perform code deployment on database as needed Participate in on-call 24X7 support rotation Schedule all Database changes in non-production databases Create/maintain documentation for implemented changes Develop and execute a test plan for patching the application DBA components Create technical design for the business and operational requirements Work with development teams on setting up Oracle technologies Design and test high availability database implementation with multiple nodes with the option to fall-back Create standby databases as needed Migrate data between production and non-production databases in the data center Write technical reports for internal and external entities Write comprehensive design specifications, instruction and other related documentation Requirements: The candidate must possess experience in installing and maintaining the following Oracle product, including Oracle Applications DBA. Experience with various UNIX, including HP-UX, LINUX is necessary and experience in troubleshooting problems is also needed: Linux operating systems knowledge Excellent Linux shell scripting. Proficiency with storage products/vendors Netapp preferred Storage configuration: understanding of lun's, mapping lun's, understanding NFS Knowledge and use of NetBackup Bachelor Degree or equivalent, or demonstrated technical excellence The following experiences are helpful: Experience in a high paced technical environment supporting multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent ability to create good relations at all levels in the organization Ability to handle high pressure Excellent written, verbal and communication skills in technical documentation a must
