Field Officer 2 Full-time Job

Job description : The ICRC Delegation in Khartoum is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fill in the position of Field Officer 2 in the Protection Department. Under the supervision of the Protection of Civilian (PoC) Delegate, the Field Officer 2 will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the PoC strategy in coordination with relevant ICRC departments. Main responsibilities : • Assists in identifying the needs and monitors the humanitarian situation of the population. • Conducts field visits and collects information relating to security incidents, population movements, protection concerns, access to services and other relevant humanitarian topics. • Analyzes information, identifies and interprets humanitarian trends and reports on relevant issues. • Contributes to oral and written reports to inform the program of activities. • Assists in implementing the humanitarian response and monitoring the activities in the field. • Establishes and maintains contacts with relevant interlocutors, including community leaders, weapon bearers and other stakeholders. • Participates in internal and external meetings upon request. • Translates and interprets from English into Arabic and vice versa, as required. Minimum required knowledge & experience : • University degree or equivalent in a related field such as Social Science, Law or Political Science • 3 - 5 years relevant experience, preferably within a humanitarian context. • Deep understanding of the cultural and socio-economic environment. • Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic. • Good computer literacy. • Valid driving license. Skills : • Good analytical skills. • Capacity to negotiate access. • Planning, organization and assessment skills. • Responsible and well organized. • Capacity to integrate information. • Good communication and reporting skills. • Capacity to work independently.
