JOB TITLE: Sales Officer – Loans
DEPARTMENT: Business and Development
REPORTS TO: Branch Supervisor
JOB PURPOSE: The Sales Officer Loans is responsible for sale of loan products to clients at the branch through prospecting, marketing and growing the bank loan portfolio while ensuring efficiency in the credit management and debt collection processes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct marketing and sale of loans products, so as to reach and surpass targets
Identify and recruit qualifying clients into Opportunity Bank Uganda loans portfolio through prospecting, networking and referrals
Build and maintain strong and positive relationships with loan customers while proactively addressing all queries in order to exceed their expectations
Conduct client visits, KYC and loan assessments according to bank credit policies and procedures.
Undertake daily monitoring, collection of all installments on assigned portfolio
Carry out proper PAR Management through daily collections of loan instalments and actively follow-up all loans that fall in arrears within his/her portfolio and in line with Credit risk policy
Ensure high portfolio quality within agreed quality benchmarks in line with Credit Policy.
Maintain a high level of discipline in attending to office duties and be a good brand ambassador while selling/marketing loan products within their location/district
Liaise with Credit department for follow-up of processed loans
Participate in planning and execution of marketing and loan sales strategies for loan portfolio growth, improved collections, arrears recovery and high quality service standards
Identify suitable savings and loan products, packages and or campaigns as needed to grow OBU’s savings and lending base in particular branch area in order to acquire new markets.
Develop an effective referral network from external stakeholders such as area opinion leaders, local and religious authorities, area micro-traders for market intelligence, business generation and product delivery while upholding all KYC standards
Timely submission of client and other related activity reports
Actively participate in morning huddles, branch and/or departmental meeting when need arises
Keep abreast of products, services and industry development so as to add value for clientele within his/her portfolio and new clients through accurate and speedy service in product understanding.
Ensure safe custody of all security/collateral documents according to banking regulations.
Accountability:
All duties must be completed according to company procedure.
Meeting the branch targets
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A Degree in any field.
Diploma Holders with the right proven skills in similar positions can also be considered
Marketing background in a Financial Institution.
Should be self-motivated, sales oriented and with marketing skills and personal integrity.
Ready to work long hours with minimum supervision.
