Research Associate, Kampala, UgandaBRACPosted 3 days agoExpires in 27 daysSaveAs a Research Associate, you will provide support to senior research staff in designing, coordinating, and implementing research projects and other activities to expand the knowledge base to help to solve important health-related challenges that affect people living in adversity in Africa.Responsibilities:Lead the collection of quantitative and qualitative dataPrepare quality transcripts from dataEnsure the quality and accuracy of collected dataAnalyse collected dataEnsure compliance of all research activities and proposalsDevelop field manualsSupervise, mentor, and support research assistants.Oversee field implementation of projects.Participate in designing training modules and conducting field-worker training.Travel to project sites, as necessary, for supervision, implementation, and quality control.Support the PI on various administrative functions related to managing research project activities and outputs (reports, proposals, presentations, and publications).Organize regular communication among research team members.Maintain databases of published and unpublished research data for future referencePresent research results at national and international venues as needed.Write scientific articles for peer-reviewed journalsAny other duty that is requested and within your capability to do.Requirements:Degree in Economics, Public Health or related quantitative/qualitative disciplineTraining in economics, epidemiology, sociology, psychology, evaluation, quantitative research, survey implementationTwo years research work experience is preferableData Analysis, survey design skills are added advantage.Working knowledge of qualitative research, familiarity with database management.Excellent communication and negotiation skills;Competent computer skills are essential;Ability to work under pressure;Good report writing skill; andKnowledge and experience in the use of computers (Word and Excel a must); Experience with qualitative data collection is desiredIf you feel you are the right match for the above position, please apply accordingly.Females are particularly encouraged to apply.Only complete applications will be accepted and shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Equal OpportunityBRAC is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
