What You Will Do:

As a Medical Assistant, you will perform basic clinical and administrative duties and assist with direct and indirect patient care activities.

Responsibilities:

Collects patient information, completing preliminary assessments and accurately documenting in the electronic health record (EHR).

Performs designated procedures and tasks as directed by physician or licensed healthcare provider within scope of education and training.

Communicates observations and significant changes in patient condition to licensed nurse, physician, or other health team personnel.

Participates in creating and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and other healthcare providers. Actively promotes patient safety.

Demonstrates a personal commitment to teamwork and collaboration within the ministry and across the broader Ascension system.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required:

BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Current American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification or Military Medical Training.

Education:

DiplomaHigh school diploma or GED required

Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. BLS strongly preferred.

Please note: This is a Float Pool Position covering several Clinics in South East Wisconsin; Milwaukee/ Racine and surrounding Areas. Travel is required to cover Clinics based on location of staff needed and business volume demands.
