Job Details

Job Purpose:

To identify and implement strategies for improving cost and service in logistics by developing projects, measuring impact, tracking project implementation, and leading change management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Champion Logistics projects identified with potential improvements (cost & service) to logistics network.

Perform cost-benefit and feasibility studies on existing, and planned projects by analysing business requirements and proposed solutions for continuous business improvement opportunities within the logistics footprint.

Create/Review metrics that measure and enable project implementation tracking while ensuring post implementation benefits’ review and follow-up on benefits leakage and benefits capture.

Build / lead project teams and steering groups including third parties on execution excellence (contracted service providers).

Develop presentations to report status of excellence initiatives at steering and performance meetings

Contribute ideas to project review workshops (with consultants where available), participate and make contribution as the key projects’ driver

Conduct training and/or give guidance and technical support for projects

Lead/Coordinate Logistics Innovation program by following Global guidance to capture and prioritize innovative proposals and solutions; and follow up on related actions plans including validation / piloting of ideas at countries and/ or cross countries / clusters.

Develop best-practices knowledge based in the Logistics Community in the Area/Cluster level and ensure the dissemination for projects to leverage such knowledge; coordinate sharing among countries of same Area

Accountabilities:

Delivery of cost-saving / Value add / process simplification logistics initiatives on annual base: target amount depends on projects approved during planning phases.

Monthly status updates, benefits delivery tracking vs targets agreed upon at the beginning of the year / stage-gate reviews

Implementation of Projects aligned to business objectives as laid down in management guidance

Number of innovations pilots initiated / ideas in stage-gate as agreed during annual planning activities; implementation excellence: meet schedule & benefit expected in the initiative approved during the design phase

Profile Description:

Education:

University degree: Engineering background required or Master degree in Transport, Logistics or Operations/Supply Chain Management with Engineering / Science background; Certification of LEAN / 6sigma / continuous improvements methods a MUST; additional education and understanding of Business management basics preferred

Experience:

Previous experience within multinational business setting required; background as Operations / Logistics Manager/Team lead/ supervisor of minimum 5 – 7 years, involving LEAN implementation, Change management / Innovation driven projects management activities with successful track records, delivering impactful changes. Experience in cement industry is beneficial / welcome

Skills and Competencies:

Fluent English communication; second language – optional- French preferable; very good project mgt practices in leading multidisciplinary cross- functional / organizational project team structures. Excellent communication, persuasion skills: comfortable speaking & working at various organizational layers

MS Office and gSuite user (Google docs, spreadsheet, powerpoint), project planning softwares; statistical analysis knowledge preferable, e.g., MiniTAB; VBA Macro creation – desirable.

In-depth technical Logistics process/ systems / business model understanding; well accustomed to continuous process analysis for quick spotting bottlenecks, efficiency gaps, innovation / digitalization implementation. LEAN management and 6- sigma / Yellow belt is a Must.

Strong Leadership abilities, with track records for high involvement activities during process assessments workshops across business-critical processes. Solid capabilities to assess process, evaluate impact, make decisions & coordinate diverse resources to successfully manage project goals. Customer-centric business understanding mindset
