Job Opportunity

As a Vessel Fire Safety Officer you will be working in a sensitive defence contract environment protecting people and assets from injury and loss caused by fire or accident. You will also be reducing the representational or financial loss and the protection of information and assets in or around the premises, providing an outstanding service ensuring the team’s operational success and service delivery,

There may be instances where there are requirements to work in challenging environment, including but not limited to work at height, confined spaces including partial or total darkness, work outdoors. But this is where your training supports you.

The role of Vessel Fire Safety Officer can be challenging but very rewarding. responding to emergency situations where you will need to use your training to ensure that incidents are dealt with swiftly and effectively.

Essential Skills

You should be able to deal with life threatening situations calmly and professionally.

  • You will need to be confident, articulate and communicate well both orally and in written language.
  • You must be physically fit and capable of taking part in emergency procedures, and using heavy equipment.
  • Able to work at heights, in confined dark spaces.
  • Have good eyesight with normal colour vision for reading meters for personal safety.
  • Ability to wear full face mask protection.
  • An understanding of the need to portray a professional image at all times.
  • Proactive & attentive to detail.
  • Ability to deal with situations politely, tactfully & with discretion.
  • Willingness to commit to working as part of a team
