Mercy Corps is a global humanitarian organization. Mercy Corps has been operating in the Middle East since the 1980s and has responded to humanitarian needs resulting from the Syrian conflict since 2012. Mercy Corps has worked to meet the critical and urgent needs of the Syrian population, and address longer-term needs by bridging humanitarian assistance with economic development programming. Mercy Corps supports vulnerable populations both in Syria and the surrounding countries, focusing on water and sanitation, livelihoods, protection, governance and social cohesion. Mercy Corps is registered in Syria and implements programming in Northeast Syria through local partners. Mercy Corps seeks to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities.
