eHealth Africa is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and training materials, to support our software and hardware solutions. You will work closely with subject matter experts, developers, and project managers to gather information and ensure accuracy and clarity in all documentation.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and training materials.

Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and project managers to gather information and ensure accuracy of documentation.

Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and easy to understand for the target audience.

Create and maintain templates and style guides to ensure consistency in documentation.

Manage the documentation review process, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing.

Participate in project meetings and provide input on documentation requirements.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Mentor and train junior technical writers.

Ensure compliance with eHealth Africa’s documentation standards and procedures.

Continuously improve documentation processes and tools.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical writer.

Proven ability to create high-quality technical documentation for software and hardware solutions.

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar.

Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Experience mentoring and training junior technical writers.

Knowledge of eHealth Africa’s mission and values is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and documentation requirements.
