Job DescriptionWhich company will you be joining as a “Mooring Engineer (M/F)”?We are recruiting, on behalf of one of our clients, a "Mooring Engineer (M/F) for a 12-month contract based in Luanda (Angola). This mission is on a residential basis, with no option for rotation.“Mooring Engineer (M/F)” What will your missions and responsibilities be?Activities Promote Safety CulturePromote safety culture within the project and her/his activities.Lead by example to ensure team members and colleagues adhere and contribute to safety principlesAdopt and demonstrate exemplary behavior regarding HSEQ rules and requirementsParticipate in and promote the Safety and Quality Culture program (FOCUS)Ensure safe workplacesEthical and Compliant PracticesEnsure that safe and ethical working practices are applied within managed or interfaced activitiesGuarantee compliance with applicable regulations and standardsRegulatory and Technical ComplianceEnsure compliance with state-of-the-art practices, TEEPA referential, and local laws/regulations in all contractual requirementsInterface ManagementManage interfaces during project execution to stay within the agreed schedule for completion of the statement of requirementsProject Values and LeadershipUphold the company’s values, motivating counterparts and working diligently to meet project targetsTechnical CoordinationOrganize and/or attend technical interface meetings as necessaryTake responsibility, under the Hull Buoy and Mooring Manager, for assigned activitiesFPSO Mooring System Life ExtensionOversee all activities related to the FPSO mooring system life extensionEnsure engineering dossiers for Topside Mooring Handling Equipment refurbishment (by OEM and subcontractors) are optimized for timely implementationMooring Operations & ProcurementLead FPSO mooring chain link displacement activities (organization, preparation, procedures, planning, coordination)Lead the Call for Tender (CFT) for Spare Mooring Line procurement, in liaison with TEPA entities and supported by GPI FEED contract resourcesLead preparation and execution of contracts with OEMs for Topside Mooring Handling Equipment refurbishmentLead Spare Mooring Line Installation Contracts/Frame Agreement negotiations and CFTsTechnical Implementation & MaintenanceImplement FPSO mooring line failure detection Define maintenance and inspection plans for topside mooring equipment preservation and readinessTeam & Interface CoordinationClarify and formalize roles and responsibilities between HBM FEED Team and TEPA entities (PBF, EPT, FO).Establish and lead regular interface and coordination meetingsLiaise with the company discipline specialists (e.g., OT/TEC/SMA mooring specialist, naval architect)Coordinate with the Classification Society for mooring matters Reporting & DocumentationProvide timely reporting to the HBM Manager and assist in communication with Project ManagementHighlight progress and areas of concernFollow up, coordinate, and prepare FEED mooring-related documentation (DCC)Engineering, Qualification & ProcurementEnsure Engineering, Qualification, and Procurement activities comply with contract requirements and project specificationsIssue proper derogations when requiredFollow up on all mooring Engineering, Qualification, and Procurement activitiesDirect FEED/Service contractors to resolve interface issues related to mooring engineeringRespond to FEED and service contractors’ technical queries as necessaryReviews & Risk ManagementIssue required reports and presentationsParticipate in technical reviews (HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Project Technical Reviews, Risk Assessments)Ensure implementation of review recommendationsCollaboration & Contract ManagementLiaise actively with technical specialists, line managers (HSE, QA, LC), and Project Services (planning, budgeting, cost control)Perform close-out of contracts in line with TEP Angola and project proceduresContribute to reducing contractual risks and highlight potential interface risks during contract executionWhat profile and skills are required for this “Mooring Engineer (M/F)” role?Qualifications / Experience Required Education: Engineer degree or equivalent qualificationLanguages:English – mandatoryPortuguese – an asset / would be a plusProfessional Experience:15 to 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically on Offshore Projects / FieldsAround 10 years of project experience with strong and proven background in mooring engineeringCertifications:BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) – mandatory for offshore site accessKey Skills and Personal Qualities:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Dynamic, highly motivated, and proactiveDemonstrated leadership and organizational abilitiesStrong capacity for transverse coordination and teamwork“Out-of-the-box” thinking and problem-solving mindsetAbility to analyze complex issues and put them into perspectiveInterested in this position?
