This job is located on the white sandy beaches of the Andros Island, a Commonwealth of the Bahamas.Atlantic Undersea Test & Evaluation Center (AUTEC) is Arcata's newest partnership. AUTEC provides research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, analysis, and assessment, and fleet support capabilities for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive undersea weapon systems, and stewards existing and emerging technologies in support of undersea warfare for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport.

Arcata Is Seeking An HVAC Supervisor In Andros Island, Bahamas To Work As Part Of a Close-knit Team, As Well As Independently, To Accomplish a Range Of Functions As You Support AUTEC. As a Member Of The Team, You Will

  • Supervises and coordinates the operations, maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
  • Oversees the installation of new units and replacement parts and ensures work is completed according to company specifications and established safety guidelines.
  • Lead a team in providing technical support and assistance for electronic and electrical control systems, medical equipment containing refrigerants and other equipment as needed to include operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Maintain the existing HVAC systems in proper repair and condition to ensure that they remain in full working order.
  • Will assist with the identification of needed spare parts, tools, equipment, materials and supplies and the creation of needed Purchase Requests to procure those needed items.
  • Ensure professional and quality services are provided to Customer in accordance with program requirements, while maintaining safety as the highest priority IAW PWS, laws, codes, guidelines, criteria, and standards established by international, US government, PWS and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Train and mentor less experienced HVAC Mechanics in the principals and best practices of HVAC as well as appropriate use of PPE.
  • Be available within 4 hours to meet on the installation with Government personnel as required.
  • Manage Shop Personnel, Training, Staffing, Timekeeping, etc.
  • Conduct counseling and corrective action with employees as needed to ensure a professional work environment.
  • Carry out other special assignments and supervisory duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S government security clearance.
  • Must have a valid Passport.
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License.
  • Must have an HVAC certification (i.e. NATE certification, ESCO Institute HVAC Excellence Professional Level Technician Certification).
  • Requires at least five (5) years of experience in a similar role, preferably at a US military installation.
  • Must have at least 3 years' experience working with Direct Digital Controls for HVAC systems to include Building Automation Systems/Building Management Systems.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a minimum of two years of Supervisory experience.
  • Must have Trane and Carrier Chiller Experience.
  • Must have refrigeration and HVAC experience.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
