Position Summary:
Winrock International is recruiting a Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor for the anticipated USAID-funded Enterprise Development and Innovation Activity in the Kyrgyz Republic. The anticipated program will catalyze inclusive economic growth by enhancing the performance of Kyrgyzstani enterprises, startups, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agriculture, tourism, and technology sectors. This will be achieved through support for a stronger enabling environment, access to finance, business development services, value chain competitiveness, and technology adoption and innovation.
The GESI Advisor will ensure that all activities promote gender equality, address gender-based violence (GBV), and proactively facilitate the meaningful participation of marginalized and under-represented groups (including women, youth, people with disabilities, and ethnic minorities). The GESI Advisor will be responsible for developing and implementing GESI strategies, action plans, and monitoring systems; conducting GESI assessments; providing training and capacity building for staff and partners; and collaborating with other stakeholders to promote inclusive and equitable development.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of a GESI strategy and action plan aligned with USAID and Winrock standards, that outlines program goals and specific objectives and activities to address identified challenges and opportunities for women, youth, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable populations to benefit from the program.
Conduct initial and ongoing GESI assessments to identify barriers to the meaningful participation of under-represented groups and inform activity design.
Design and deliver trainings and workshops on GESI for project staff, partners, and beneficiaries.
Provide technical assistance to project staff and partners to integrate GESI principles into all project activities, including monitoring and evaluation.
Coordinate with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) staff to develop indicators and collect data related to GESI; use data to track progress towards goals and make data-driven decisions.
