As a Consultant at Dalberg, you will bring your passion, exceptional problem-solving skills, and diverse perspectives to teams addressing complex development challenges across the globe. You will develop insights and formulate actionable recommendations for our clients and work collaboratively to bring those recommendations to life. We prioritize professional development and are committed to helping you build capabilities to realize your potential.

Consultants are fully engaged in multiple projects simultaneously, often operating in multiple sectors. Their core responsibilities include:

Contribute actively to the problem-solving approach on projects, including performing insightful qualitative and quantitative analyses.

Effectively structure and present analytical insights in easily digestible ways.

Work directly with clients to define scope, develop insights and define creative solutions that bring about tangible change.

Provide innovative and well-researched solutions in your area of expertise, providing technical knowledge.

Thoughtfully develop specific project deliverables for both clients and internal stakeholders.

Support design, management, and delivery of specific client assignments.

Support team leaders in overall project management.

Relationship Management:

Support communication with client and external stakeholders in a seamless and responsive manner.

Establish strong working relationships with clients by supporting consistent communication and by ensuring project goals and objectives are met.

Communicate directly with subject matter experts and senior executives to provide actionable insights, facilitate alignment and create clear plans of action.

Proposal Development and Knowledge Creation:

Contribute to compelling, client-ready proposal development to generate new project opportunities.

Support knowledge development and dissemination efforts for sector, capability, or firm-level priorities.

Build relationships with key experts to generate cutting-edge knowledge and support high-impact project delivery.

Participate actively in internal firm initiatives to support growth, training, and operations.

What You’ll Bring

This is a generalist consulting role with the expectation of gaining increasing specialisation over time.

Generally, we look for applicants with:

Undergraduate and advanced degree from top-tier academic institutions with outstanding academic performance.

Consulting industry experience is a bonus but not a pre-requisite for exceptional candidates with a deep passion for our mission and impact orientation.

Proven commitment to making a measurable impact on social issues and/or international development challenges through your personal and professional engagements.

Demonstrated analytical problem-solving abilities.

Strong quantitative aptitude (including comfort working with numbers, financial statements, and business models) and qualitative research skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling narratives and deliver polished presentations.

Experience structuring and managing projects and/or initiatives with limited guidance.

Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across multiple cultural and professional backgrounds.

A passion for working in diverse teams, a willingness to travel in developing countries, and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly.

Comfort with working virtually with a distributed global team, potentially including multiple time zones.
