The RN is responsible for:
Providing direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act
Using the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients.
Adheres to Texas Health Resources (THR) policies, procedures and standards of care.
Performance Expectations:
Practice:
Delivers quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
Patient Advocacy: Provides explanations necessary to perform treatments.
Understands and adheres to THR policy regarding Advanced Directives.
Education: Participates in continuing education to maintain clinical currency and obtain new knowledge and skills appropriate to job responsibilities.
Accountability: Accepts responsibility and accountability for actions. Performs duties and responsibilities within the scope of licensure.
Efficiency: Completes work efficiently.
Interpersonal Skills: Communicates in a professional manner both verbally and in writing. Interacts appropriately and courteously with patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
Organization: Prioritizes and organizes work assignments efficiently to complete duties in a timely manner.
Computer Skills: Competent use of personal computer for documenting patient care.
Quality and Safety: Observes patients, equipment, and environment and promptly reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel. Follows isolation procedures as required.
