The Chief Systems Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing a configuration management (CM) program that is followed by each business component. The successful candidate will work on the team that generates the policies, training plans, and documents necessary to support the Chief Systems Engineer’s CM program.


Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assessment of proposed Configuration Management Plans (CMPs)
  • Develop or assist with the development of CM plans and charters.
  • Develop supporting documentation to include, but not limited to: CM Plan templates, standard operating procedures, white papers, and briefings.
  • Initiating new processes that aid the coordination and administration of assigned CM activities
  • Review and recommend CM Tools.
  • Assist in the development of materials to promote strategic communications and ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with identifying and baselining configuration items.
  • Assist in developing online CM tutorials.
  • Monitor risks and requirements.
  • Generate and follow strategies that ensure performance of team tasks are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Use Atlassian suite of tools and SharePoint to manage work efforts.
  • Assist in facilitating the Configuration Management Working Group (CMWG) to address CM issues and concerns and to provide solutions.
  • Support weekly team meetings.
  • Utilize expert communication skills to report on technical progress, issues, and concerns.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Years of Experience
  • A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of relevant experience.
    OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
    OR
  • A Master's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of thirteen (13) years of relevant experience.
Required Skills
  • Seven (7) years of recent CM Experience
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Tool Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing and delivering briefings to various audiences
  • Ability to work on a fast-paced team
  • Ability to work with minimum direction
  • Strong systems engineering skills in the areas of requirements gathering, testing, design, planning, risks management, and/or process development
  • Change Management experience
Desired Skills
  • CM certification or development classes taken within the last 3 years
  • Experience with CM in DevOps or SAFe programs
  • Experience performing CM Audits
