Salary Range: $17.00 per hour

Anticipated Start Date: June 10th, 2024

Term of Employment: Temporary

Base of Designation: Washington, DC

World Learning seeks a Youth Programs Intern to assist the Youth Exchange team in carrying out current and future youth exchange programs. The Youth Programs Intern will help streamline curriculum materials, recruit and engage with participants on a variety of social media platforms, and analyze participant feedback all in the name of building bridges across cultures and preparing the next generation of global leaders to tackle the world's challenges.

Responsibilities

Support the creation, implementation, and analysis of programmatic surveys;

Manage program inboxes;

Social media monitoring and posting;

Content creation for social media;

Streamlining current organizational systems;

Managing and maintaining alumni databases;

Assist with applications and review process;

Streamline virtual program components/curriculum;

Conduct research to identify site visits/workshops to support program goals and objectives; and

Other responsibilities as needed by the admissions and programming team.

Requirements

Required Experience/Education:

An undergraduate degree in a related field or substantial work toward a degree;

Equivalent education/experience can substitute for all required qualifications except where there are

specific constraints noted, such as a license/certification/registration or eligibility requirements stipulated

by a U.S. Government contract; and

Applicants must be authorized to work in the location where this position is offered.

Required Skills:

Proven written and oral English communication skills, including public speaking experience and strong writing

skills;

Proficient in Microsoft Office/Teams/SharePoint/Outlook or similar communication platforms; and

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, coordinate activities in multiple locations, and

prioritizing competing tasks.

Excellent attention to detail;

Superior interpersonal and cross-cultural communication;

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to adapt under pressure;

Ability to take initiative, work independently under minimal supervision, as well as with a team;

Comfortable with engaging participants on various social media platforms (Twitter, YouTube, blogs, Hootsuite,

etc.);

Has a DEI Mindset: Fosters diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices and challenges practices that may be

exclusionary;

Energetic and strong team player; and

An undergraduate degree or substantial work toward a degree.

Preferred skills:

Previous work and/or interest in the youth sector;

International travel/work experience; and

Foreign language skills (Spanish, French, Arabic, other).
