The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is a group of private, international, non-denominational development organizations and agencies. It works to improve the quality of life of communities, mainly in Asia and Africa. The AKDN helps make significant improvements to peoples lives, regardless of their origin, religion or gender. AKDNs development activities include programmes in health, education, rural development, and strengthening civil society. AKDNs cultural activities include restoring historic monuments and promoting music, art, architecture, and urban planning.
