Warwick Hotels & Resorts is seeking to fill the position of a Teppanyaki Chef

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Teppanyaki Chef who must possess expertise in preparing a variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, teppanyaki and other traditional foods.

Proficiency in Japanese cooking techniques and a strong understanding of ingredients with the ability to create appealing food presentations. Oversee the day-to-day culinary operations of the hotel’s “fine dining” room. Support and assist the Executive Chef. Train and supervise staff and monitor food quality.

Qualifications

Culinary degree or certification in Japanese cuisine.

Experience with sourcing authentic Japanese ingredients.

Knowledge of Japanese food culture.

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Typically, 5-10 years of experience in a restaurant setting, with a focus on Japanese cuisine.

Experience in menu planning, inventory management, and food preparation.

Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal and interpersonal skills

Understanding and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

Proficiency in Teppanyaki cooking techniques and food presentation

Excellent knife skills and ability to perform cooking tricks

Excellent verbal communication l skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
