Tech Lead - Data Engineer Full-time Job

Job Summary:

As a Tech Lead - Data Engineer you are responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of new data warehouses, data marts and data lakes including data security measures. You will be responsible for data collection, transformation, and data cleansing activities in support of various data pipelines and provide technology solutions that will have significant impact across the business. As a team lead, the individual should be willing to mentor junior data engineers by providing clear direction, providing learning opportunities, and leading the team through design challenges and solutions.

Responsibilities:

· Works on highly complex projects/programs that require in-depth knowledge of multiple technical areas and business segments.

· Partners with other technical staff to understand specific data, reporting and data platform needs; designs data models for business applications.

· Codes, tests and documents new or modified data systems to create robust, high-performing, secure data platforms for data scientists and other data analysts across AmeriHealth Caritas.

· Build end to end solution (infrastructure setup to the models created) based on various Machine Learning/AI use cases

· Works on advanced development of AI use-cases including development of generative AI solutions.

· Establishes data lake ecosystem to empower citizen data scientists with minimal IT intervention.

· Creates well defined system designs and technical documentation using software engineering best practices, adhering to enterprise technology standards.

· Participates in code reviews and ensure standards are followed across team.

· Works as a liaison with Enterprise Architecture to define and implement technology roadmap, governance standards.

· Mentors team of highly talented data engineers/AI/ML engineers by leading them technically through projects. Help team members understand technical issues and provide insight to remove obstacles.

· Identifies new and emerging technologies through training, research and development.

· Troubleshoots complex data platform and AI related issues; identifies performance bottlenecks; implements and supports data pipeline optimization; implements security measures.

· Defines the operationalization frameworks for deploying machine learning/AI models, by partnering with MLOps/DevOps teams.

· Leads the AI sandbox environment to conduct Proof of Concept studies.

· Responsible for the cloud operations which are 247 service, working with the Cloud Ops team to triage critical service outages and bring service back online by doing extensive troubleshooting activities and performing various patching activities.

· Provides technical leadership on automation projects by proactively suggesting new tools and techniques to team.
