The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) is a leading provider of early warning and analysis on food insecurity. Created in 1985 by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), FEWS NET informs decisions on humanitarian assistance planning through evidence-based analysis. FEWS NET is implemented by a team of leading international, regional, and national organizations that includes Chemonics International, a development consulting firm. Chemonics is the consortium lead and manages overall operations.
