The position:

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Power Supply & Traction Power Engineer to work on our RSSOM project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Toronto, Ontario, CA.

Accountabilities:

5 up to 10 years of Engineering and Commissioning expertise.

Knowledge of the Design and Development processes, related procedures and instructions, KPIs

Knowledge of the system, subsystems of a transportation system and related interactions, system architecture

Knowledge of the basic technical concepts and the main PS&TP architecture and equipment

Knowledge of the principles of the electrical system design

Knowledge of the process of checking that Traction Power and Power Supply meets specifications and that it fulfills its intended purposes/ requirements, about factory and on-site testing

Knowledge of the process of checking that electrical system meets specifications and that it fulfills its intended purposes/ requirements, about factory and on-site testing

Knowledge of commissioning rules and standards also with reference to the specific project and country in order to adhere to them and induct other people involved on tests activities properly

Knowledge of the railway environment and the related risks and rules and adhere to them in planning and executing commissioning activities.

Ensure the interface with the other relevant technologies

Ensure test planning and coordination of operational activities on site according to schedule

Ensure the Verification activities on Power Supply & Traction Power documents, according to the V&V Plan

Ensure the execution of the test and issuing the test report and non-compliances according to quality procedures and proposing remedy actions

Ensure the identification of the contractual requirements about PS&TP design.

Contribute to the Contact line standardization across different projects.

Completion of activity budget with respect to the planned one in the project

Reduction of design releases issued with respect to previous projects

Preferred profile is a candidate experienced in the field of the traction power systems or as alternative of the electrical systems.

Education / Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Equivalent technical experience.

Ontario P.Eng highly desirable.
