KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
Carry out site investigations accurately and on time.
Design of engineering works.
Be proficient with the design and CAD software used by the design section.
Ensure that the computer hardware is maintained and that the software is kept up-to-date.
Checking design calculations and drawings done by other engineers and technicians.
Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
Managing, directing and monitoring progress during each phase of a project.
Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
Management and control of contracts and project programmes and planning.
Preparing bids for tenders, and reporting to clients, public agencies and planning bodies.
Co-ordinating and attending engineering project meetings, maintaining meeting records and agreed actions, and then following through to ensure actions are completed.
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.
Represent the company on site during construction of projects.
Monitor the time and costs of projects for reporting to the line manager.
Be proficient with the company Quality Management System.
Be an ambassador for the company.
Undertake the Project Engineer’s role on assigned projects.
Serve as Project Engineer and as a designated Client contact on assigned projects.
Develop probable construction cost estimates for his/her projects within the department.
Coordinate work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.
Handle routine contractual administration.
Attend and participate in Client and Site meetings. Draft and submit minute of meetings.
Must have the ability to read, analyse, and interpret governmental regulations and procedures.
Prepare reports and business correspondence.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from individual or groups of clients and the general public.
Adhere to the project filling system on each project assigned to.
Ensure that project files and documents are backed up on the server
Adhere to the QMS filling system on each project assigned to.
Manage Staff effectively.
REQUIRED LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
Minimum of 7 years’ industry experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
ECSA Registration
Project Management certificate/Skills
Techno Cad
Civil 3D/Civil Design
Auto cad
Microsoft Office Proficiency
MS Projects
Good communication skills
Effective team player
Organizational skills and planning
Ability to work under pressure
Analytical thinking
EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately
