Security Guard Full-time Job

The British Embassy Tehran has several positions open for Embassy Security guards and invites applications from interested applicants. Security Guards will, under the direction of the Security Manager and their deputies, ensure the safety and security of the Embassy, its staff and visitors and report to the Security Manager and Guard Shift Commanders. This is an important post and the successful candidates must show proven skills and the ability to work diligently, to high standards and with little supervision. Previous security experience is advantageous although additional training will be provided for successful candidates. Candidates must have a high standard of spoken and written English to IELTS 4. The successful candidate should have some IT knowledge and be conversant with Microsoft packages. • Follow all orders and procedures as directed by Security Line Managers; • Patrol areas and check doors, gates and windows for signs of unauthorized entry. • Watch for irregularities and report incidents or problems; • Record times of inspections and presence of authorized persons; • Respond to alarms and check alarm systems; • Observe and report suspects to Security Line Managers, or apprehend offenders when appropriate and detain them until given further instructions; • Monitor computer alarm systems, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems and communicate with patrols to attend alarms and incidents; • Issue security passes, give directions and make security arrangements for authorized visitors; • Check visitors and their hand luggage to detect concealed items; • Provide assistance to staff and visitors; • Other tasks as directed by the Post Security Officer, Overseas Security Manager and Shift Commanders
