Education : Bachelor’s degree in public health OR Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine/equivalent and Diploma/Certification or equivalent in Public Health.PhD in Public Health or equivalent in Community Medicine highly preferredExperience : Minimum 7 years of research experience, with a strong focus on Primary Health. Proven track record of academic contribution with 5 published works. Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring research teams, ensuring successful project execution and collaboration.Core Responsibilities : - Provide subject and technical expertise and support for the PHCC Research Office.- Provide high level technical input into development of PHCC policy and standards, Research Strategy, Plans and assist in their implementation.- Participate in the work of the PHCC Research committee including research reviews as a subject expert.- Contribute to the design of technical coordination and participation in relevant primary care research.- Engage with stakeholders and coordinate identification of research partners for grant-funded research.- Support research training and capacity building including development of training materials, postgraduate Specialist training in Community Medicine and Family Medicine.- Lead in the development of research tools, design of priority research projects and their implementation.- Provide leadership in research data management, preparation of reports, manuscripts and other outputs.- Coordinate the preparation of PHCC Annual Research Reports and their dissemination.- Engage with Workforce development and training to develop a comprehensive system for the training and development of research staff.- Review the training needs of research staff and prepare plans to address gaps in collaboration with Director of Clinical Research.- Act as lead for the production of regular reports on progress of research, highlighting issues and concerns and making recommendations and suggesting an action plan to Director of Clinical Research.- Demonstrate a proactive approach to patient safety by thinking about what might go wrong in all your undertakings and take necessary measures to prevent them from happening.- Partner with line manager to understand risks in your area of work, develop a plan on how to mitigate those risks, and develop shared accountability for implementing and evaluating the plan.
