JOB PURPOSE:
The Protection and Advocacy Coordinator plays a pivotal role in spearheading protection and advocacy initiatives within the designated area of operation. Collaborating closely with field teams, they will devise, implement, and monitor activities aligned with World Vision's established approaches and technical guidance, aimed at reducing vulnerability to child protection concerns and ensuring their overall safety and well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute integrated work plans in alignment with established program objectives, ensuring a strategic approach to protection and advocacy efforts.
Implement comprehensive monitoring frameworks to track the progress of field activities, providing regular updates and insights to relevant stakeholders, while proactively identifying and addressing challenges.
Provide regular updates to the Activity Manager and/or Project Manager on key issues, trends, and developments related to protection and advocacy initiatives, contributing to informed decision-making processes.
Foster effective collaboration with other stakeholders, including project staff and community leaders, to enhance the impact and sustainability of interventions, facilitating a coordinated response to protection concerns.
Offer technical guidance and support to field teams in designing and implementing community-based interventions focused on child protection, leveraging best practices and evidence-based approaches to promote positive outcomes.
Coordinate training and capacity-building sessions for community members and staff, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively respond to protection concerns, ensuring a holistic approach to community empowerment.
Facilitate the establishment and strengthening of community-based child protection mechanisms, promoting active participation from local communities in identifying, addressing, and monitoring protection risks, fostering a culture of community ownership and responsibility.
Support the identification and documentation of protection cases, ensuring appropriate referral pathways are established to connect vulnerable individuals with specialized support services, coordinating with relevant service providers to ensure comprehensive case management.
Engage with community leaders and other key stakeholders to conduct awareness campaigns on child protection issues, promoting positive behavior change and reducing stigma surrounding vulnerable children and families, leveraging innovative communication strategies to reach diverse audiences.
Develop information, education, and communication (IEC) materials on key protection themes, utilizing participatory approaches to ensure content is relevant, accessible, and culturally appropriate for target audiences, fostering greater awareness and understanding of child protection issues.
Support documentation and reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of program activities and outcomes, contributing to organizational learning and accountability, adhering to established data protection protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
Collect and document community-level inputs and feedback regarding key protection challenges and opportunities, ensuring community voices are integrated into program design and decision-making processes, fostering a sense of community ownership and participation.
Maintain comprehensive case files and regularly update databases, ensuring data confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards, enabling efficient tracking and monitoring of beneficiaries and their progress over time.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

A minimum of two years of experience working in community development or social work programs is required, demonstrating practical experience in implementing interventions, engaging with communities, and addressing social issues, showcasing competence in fieldwork and project management.
Proficiency in both written and spoken Arabic and English is necessary, facilitating effective communication with local communities, stakeholders, and international partners, enabling seamless engagement and collaboration, ensuring clarity and understanding across diverse contexts.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are critical for identifying and addressing complex protection issues, requiring the ability to assess situations, analyze data, and develop effective solutions, promoting innovation and adaptability in challenging circumstances.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders is essential for fostering positive relationships and ensuring effective collaboration, promoting transparent communication channels, active listening, and respectful dialogue to build trust and consensus, maximizing impact through partnership.
