Product Development Merchandiser – Assistant Manager Level Location: Katunayake Salary: LKR 200,000 + Travelling Allowance Employment Type: Full-TimeJob Overview:We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Product Development Merchandiser (AM Level) to join our team in Katunayake. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the end-to-end product development process, from design concept through to bulk production, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.Key Responsibilities:Manage the full product development cycle — from sampling to bulk production.Coordinate with buyers, designers, fabric suppliers, and factories to ensure smooth workflow.Oversee costing, pricing, and negotiation with suppliers to achieve target margins.Review technical packs, trims, and fabric details to ensure product accuracy.Monitor sample development timelines and approvals.Maintain strong communication with production teams to ensure quality and delivery standards.Analyze market trends, buyer feedback, and fabric innovations to support new product ideas.Support senior management in planning seasonal developments and production forecasts.Qualifications & Experience:Degree or Diploma in Textile, Apparel, or Fashion Merchandising.Minimum 4–6 years of experience in apparel merchandising, preferably in product development.Strong knowledge of fabric sourcing, garment construction, and costing.Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems is an advantage.Why Join Us:Competitive salary package with travel allowance.Opportunity to work with leading international apparel brands.Dynamic and supportive work environment focused on innovation and growth.
