Functional Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical consultations for conflict-affected patients following ICRC guidelines and protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments of individual patients, considering their physical and mental health.
- Collaborate with the Mobile Health Team (MHT) nurses to implement individual and public health education campaigns on various health topics (e.g., first aid, health promotion). This should involve planning, organizing, delivering sessions, and evaluating results to improve community health knowledge and behavior. Promote health awareness within the community through educational sessions and health talks. Translate the necessary education material.
- Prescribe and dispense medications following the ICRC standard list of medicines. Counsel and educate patients regarding appropriate medication usage.
- Refer patients requiring specialized treatment to appropriate healthcare facilities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records. Track the number of beneficiaries provided services during the reporting period and inform the line manager on any medical/non-medical matters.
- Support with administrative and data management work relating to beneficiary service data. Record all relevant data for data analysis. Assist the data entry clerks as and when needed with accurate entry of the health data. Monitor disease prevalence and health trends among conflict-affected population.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for MHT operations. Assist with logistical arrangement for MHT activities (setting up consultation area, preparing medical equipment). Assist in identifying, training and supervising volunteer community health workers/CHWs and local staff.
- Follow up on treatment plans of patients, especially those with chronic illnesses, in collaboration with CHWs.
- Strictly adhere to universal precautions and infection control guidelines.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ensure the dignified and respectful management of patients’ conditions.
- Attend to any other activities or assignments requested by the management.
