Position Description
Mercer Celgar is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Engineering team as the Manager of Engineering. In this role, you will lead all mill engineering activities, ensuring regulatory compliance and CapEx project management. This role serves as the mill’s Primary Responsible Registrant with EGBC, overseeing mechanical, electrical, and project engineering. Responsibilities include budget planning, external resource management, and providing engineering support for operational improvements, requiring a proactive leader for both routine and long-term initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Overseeing the mill’s mechanical, electrical and project engineering activities.
- Acting as the mill’s Primary Responsible Registrant with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
- Ensuring that the mill is compliant with the Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) and EGBC regulations.
- Ensuring that the mill is compliant with the Quality Control Manual for Class “A” Work and related Technical Safety BC regulations.
- Ensuring compliance with the Engineering Department’s Policies and Standards.
- Overseeing the mill’s CapEx budget tracking and monthly cost forecasting.
- Planning the mill’s long term CapEx needs for the next 5+ years.
- Overseeing the planning, budgeting and execution process of the mill’s CapEx projects and engineering supported maintenance projects.
- Overseeing external engineering resources with a focus on costs, efficiency and quality.
- Providing engineering support to the Operations and Maintenance Departments for general maintenance activities and reliability improvements.
Salary
The salary for this position is $137,100.00 – 205,600.00. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
