Kimmel & Silverman, P.C. has immediate openings for full-time, Legal Assistants. This is a terrific entry-level position at a Plaintiff-focused Lemon Law litigation firm. This position requires no prior Legal experience and pays an hourly rate commensurate with experience. We train entry-level professionals to be efficient and successful paralegals within 6 months to 1 year. \n\nJob duties may include, but not be limited to the following:\n\nManage Legal case files: Maintaining and managing accurate legal case files by organizing, tracking, and filing case documents, correspondence, and court filings.\nClient Communication: Responding to basic client phone calls and providing information and updates, setting client expectations.\nScheduling of Case related activities: Scheduling, depositions, trials and hearings.\nCommunication with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, vendors, and clients:\nFollowing up with necessary stakeholders to obtain information.\nLegal Document Preparation:\nUnder supervision, prepares various Legal documents, including, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, trial exhibits, and settlement agreements, which require excellent grammar, punctuation and organizational skills.\nOrganize & Index Legal Documents: Summarizing depositions, court hearings, witness testimonies, and case documents.\nConduct Legal Research: Under attorney supervision, perform research to locate legal precedents, statues, regulations, and other relevant information. \nQualifications:\nStrong Work ethic.\nAttention to Detail and time management:\nMust be able to accurately enter data into tracking systems, summarize depositions, testimonies, and hearings and other information accurately and pay careful attention to detail while preparing, proofreading, and reviewing legal documents and correspondence.\nCommunication skills:\nExceptional communication and Customer Service, both verbally and written, to work efficiently with diverse set of colleagues and clients.\nSelf-Motivated with ability to Work in Team environment:\nBeing a quick study, flexible, organized, detailed-oriented, analytical, able to maintain concentration, and to be a fast learner.\nCritical-Thinking and Problem Solving skills:\nIdentify issues and inconsistencies to quickly respond and act accordingly.\nTechnology: Basic proficiency with computers, research tools, databases, software, Legal practice management software (such as Needles) Microsoft Word, Adobe Professional etc.\nCommitment to Client Service:\nUnderstanding, empathy, patience, and attentiveness towards client needs and building good relationships and confidence in a caring manner.\nBenefits:\nPaid Vacation Time, Health and Dental Coverage.\nHours: Full-time, 40 hours per week with Overtime opportunities
