Kuwait College of Science and Technology is fully licensed by the nation’s Ministry of Higher Education/Private Universities Council and started its operation in 2016 offering degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electronics and Communications Engineering. In 2022, the student population exceeded 1600, and the first cohort of engineers has graduated. The University has an outstandingly high research output in the context of the private universities in the Region.

One of the cornerstones of the University’s strategy is “Engineering with Leadership”, which means that the University aims to produce engineering graduates who are aware and conversant with management theory and techniques. Thus, its engineering curricula already contain significant aspects of economics, management, and entrepreneurship. Shortly, a new Faculty of Business Management will be launched.

The Department of Mathematics is recruiting ambitious Kuwaiti academics with a proven track record in teaching.

Lecturers are required to teach and provide guidance to students in a specialized field of study. They are responsible for preparing and presenting lectures, creating and supervising examinations, and marking examination papers. They are expected to help students in their final year projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Teach the assigned classes in Foundation or Degree programs including independent lectures and tutorials and/or lab session.

· Teaching responsibilities is governed by department needs and will be determined every term by Head of Department and the Dean of Faculty.

· Develop course syllabi and class materials in the assigned courses in coordination with HoD.

· Participate in the review of Quizzes, Midterm, and Final Examinations

· Prepare multiple Final Exam versions, if required.

· Help in the textbook selection process for Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced courses.

· Carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs, in line with personal objectives agreed in the Staff review process.

· Attend and contribute to meetings or events relating to the department.

· Any other task assigned to you by your Head of Department/Dean

All duties and responsibilities shall be carried out under the direction of your Head of Department and are subject to evaluation by your HOD/ Dean of Faculty/President.

Successful candidates are expected to have:

· Min. Master Degree in Mathematics from a reputed University listed in https://nbaq.edu.kw/search/index-en.html.

· Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in the same field.

· Strong written and spoken English communication skills

· Computer Literacy

· Having high attention to students and their needs

· Creative and Self Motivated

· Contribute to assessment design, and administration along with curriculum development.

· Ability to adapt to and participate in different cultures and learning environments.

· Willing to pursue high-quality research in their area of specialization.

· Experience in teaching in higher education, preferably within a variety of international settings and/or with Arab learners.

· Ability to adapt to and participate in different cultures and learning environments.

· Must show proven experience, corresponding to the level of the position in teaching.

· Sound experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing academic curricula for English Language courses.

· Proficient in computer skills.

· Experience in departmental administration is preferred.

· Professional attitude towards work and colleagues.

· Ability to contribute to an innovative and challenging academic instructional program.

· Experience in securing external research funding would be an asset.

· Experience in the supervision of students’ projects.

· Professional attitude towards work and colleagues.

· Experience in teaching in the Middle East and GCC preferably and acute awareness of cross-cultural differences in the worlds of teaching and learning.
