Kitchen Assistant Full-time Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Moorings, working in the British Virgin Islands, providing an efficient, fast, professional, and courteous service to all guests. Working across multiple outlets as part of the Food and Beverage team, you will be interacting day to day with a large number of guests including holiday makers from across the globe. Working in this busy resort teamwork and flexibility is key to ensure operations run smoothly and that guests leave feeling that they received a 5-star service. What you will be doing:

• Working between multiple restaurants across The Moorings resort.

• Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen and workstations at all times.

• Efficient dishwashing to ensure items required for service are always available, and that the kitchen is left clean upon close or shift finish.

• Preparing the kitchen for the next shift through deep cleaning and restocking supplies.

• Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.

• Disposing of trash.

• Supporting with unloading and storage of deliveries and ensuring stock rotation to avoid wastage.

• Food preparation as advised by the cook/chef team.

• Plating of dishes ready for service, ensuring tasteful and consistent presentation always meeting the chef’s standards.

• Taking direction from the chef at all times.

• Ensuring safe food handling and adherence to health and safety processes at all times. The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Experience as a kitchen assistant or in a similar role in a high-level establishment.

• Well organised with a professional working style and the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.

• Approachable and a happy, smiley personality.

• An interest in developing own culinary skills.

• Experience working with health and safety practices and procedures.

• A strong team player with the ability to work proactively and in a friendly manner with others, happy to take direction from superiors and adhere to it.

• Exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene on both a personal and professional level.

• Flexible approach to supporting in a wide variety of tasks.

• Availability to work weekends, public holidays and shift work as required including evenings
