Applications are invited for the position of Junior Underwriter in the Underwriting Department at Sagicor General Insurance Inc in St. Lucia.Job SummaryThe Junior Underwriter will primarily work with the Underwriting Department and other team members throughout the organization to profitably grow and retain the book of business.The Junior Underwriter will work closely with the Underwriter who is assigned the broker portfolio, and as required will assist the underwriting team with the execution of the plans for the book of business, develop and maintain relationships and execute underwriting duties.Key Duties And Responsibilities Renewal Retention: Process broker policy renewals as assigned. Update client files in keeping with AML/KYC policy.

Responsible for the handling of all renewal queries sent by SGI’s renewal team. Broker Partnerships Develop, maintain and manage Broker relationships and other client and producer relationships as required. Deliver exceptional, timely, complete and accurate service to all internal & external customers.

Develop trusted, respected and lasting relationships with Brokers, and other client and producer relationships as required. Work with business partners & clients to craft solutions that meet their needs. Underwriting Execution Responsible for new business and renewal executions.

Prepare formal documentation to be sent to customers in a timely manner (quotations, bank copies, NCD Letters). Adhere to underwriting guidelines in selecting risks. Follow up on accounts and close new business.

Prepare weekly cancellation letters for Transport Board for all producer channels. Receivables Responsible for preparation and issuing of credit terms to clients and producers and referring all salary deduction requests to the Credit Officer for processing. Ensure policies are cancelled in a timely manner due to non-payment of premiums and customer requests, with supporting cancellation documents uploaded to GIMS.

Perform any other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills Required Education/Experience Professional qualifications such as the Cert CII, CIP or equivalent programme. Minimum of two (2) years experience Knowledge of GIMS not necessary but an asset Customer focused.
