About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Principal to join our Venture Capital team in Lisbon. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of VC / Start-up experience, a strong investment track record, and fluency in Portuguese.
Key Responsibilities:
Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:
- Identify and assess investment opportunities.
- Conduct due diligence and financial modeling.
- Present recommendations to the investment committee.
Portfolio Management:
- Support portfolio companies with strategic guidance.
- Monitor performance and prepare reports.
- Build strong relationships with founders and management.
Market Research:
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Conduct research to identify new opportunities.
- Share insights to inform investment strategies.
Networking:
- Build a network of entrepreneurs, investors, and experts.
- Represent the firm at events and conferences.
- Collaborate with other VC firms and partners.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor junior team members.
- Contribute to investment strategy development.
- Lead special projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years in venture capital / start-up with a successful investment / operational track record.
- Previous experience in Management Consulting, Investment Banking or related industry
- Fluency in Portuguese.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
