We Are In Search Of An Individual Who Can Champion Barrick's DNA ByCommunicating Honestly, Transparently, and Acting with IntegrityExhibiting a Results-Driven approachDelivering solutions that are Fit for PurposeDedicating themselves to Building a Sustainable LegacyTaking Responsibility and being AccountableCommitting to Zero HarmCultivating strong and meaningful PartnershipsReporting to the HV Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing high voltage electrical maintenance and power line works within the process plant.Your duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:Repair and replace damaged power lines, poles, insulators, and related equipment.Ensure all maintenance activities, safety compliance, and operational tasks are completed in line with established standards and schedules.Ensure all incident Install, inspect, test, and maintain high voltage electrical systems and equipment.Work on transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and other HV components.Ensure that all installations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.Inspect and maintain overhead and underground power transmission and distribution lines.Construction of overhead power linesPerform preventative maintenance to minimize power outages and electrical faults.Follow strict safety protocols to handle high voltage systems and live wires.Diagnose faults or malfunctions in HV electrical systems and power lines.Use testing devices like voltmeters, ammeters, and insulation testers to locate issues.Collaborate with engineers and other electricians to implement effective solutions.Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.Work as part of a team with engineers, linemen, and other electricians.Adhere strictly to all relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards, including national and local electrical safety standards.Ensure all work complies with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations to protect oneself, team members, and the public.Implement and follow company safety policies and procedures during installation, maintenance, and repair of high voltage systems and power lines.Conduct risk assessments and safety checks before starting any job to identify potential hazards and apply necessary controls.To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:Minimum Grade 12 School Certificate.Minimum Craft Certificate in Power ElectricalValid driver's licenseHV Termination CertificateSwitching certificateLinemen certificateMember of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)Power System Protection Certificate-ABB relaysGood communication SkillsMust be Willing to Learn and attention to detailsWhat We Can Offer YouA comprehensive compensation package including bonuses and site-specific benefits.The ability to make a difference and lasting impact.Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.Opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues.Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization
