Role synopsis:

The HSE Advisor is responsible for providing Health, Safety, and Environmental support to BP’s operations in Azerbaijan. The role holder will provide advice, guidance and assurance on HSE matters to operational teams, ensuring compliance with BP’s standards, procedures and regulatory requirements. The HSE Advisor will be actively involved in risk management, incident investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

Provide HSE support and guidance to operational teams.

Conduct HSE inspections and audits.

Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification processes.

Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

Develop and deliver HSE training programs.

Monitor HSE performance and identify areas for improvement.

Ensure compliance with BP’s HSE standards and procedures.

Maintain HSE records and documentation.

Liaise with regulatory authorities.

Promote a strong HSE culture.

Participate in emergency response drills and exercises.

Essential experience and job requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE in the oil and gas industry.

Thorough knowledge of HSE legislation and standards.

Experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Fluency in Azerbaijani and English.

Desirable criteria & qualifications:

NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification.

Experience in implementing and maintaining HSE management systems.

Experience in working with regulatory authorities.
