PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU APPLY!About EMAAfricas green revolution will not be televised; it will be told by us.Environment Media Africa (EMA) is a purpose-driven digital media organization on a mission to amplify Africas green voice through media, innovation, and partnerships.We believe that environmental stories should not only inform they must inspire action.Through our digital news ecosystem, we are building a continental platform that connects local stories to global conversations on climate, waste, water, energy, and sustainability.EMA is now assembling its Founding Cohort: passionate builders ready to turn vision into impact.The Role: Digital & Creative Content ManagerAs the Digital & Creative Content Manager, youll bring EMAs stories to life through compelling visuals, sound, and digital experiences.You will lead creative production for video, podcast, and multimedia content, helping transform EMAs mission into powerful stories that engage millions.This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a creative leader who thrives in storytelling, design, and digital innovation.Role Type: VOLUNTEERCommitment: 20 hours per week (flexible, remote Ghana-based)Start: ImmediatelyReports to: Team Lead, Environment Media AfricaKey ResponsibilitiesCreative Direction & StrategyDesign and execute EMAs digital content strategy across YouTube, podcasts, and social channels.Ensure visual and narrative consistency across all platforms.Collaborate with editorial and social leads to translate news, data, and stories into engaging multimedia formats.Production & Content CreationOversee the creation of video shows, interviews, and short documentaries for EMAManage podcast recording, editing, and publishing processes.Develop creative storytelling concepts (animations, reels, short clips) optimized for social media impact.Maintain a simple production workflow using free or low-cost creative tools (Canva, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Audacity, etc.).Leadership & CollaborationCoordinate with the Head of News & Storytelling to identify stories worth adapting into visual or audio formats.When possible, work with volunteer editors, videographers, and designers to produce high-quality content.Innovate new creative campaigns that spark conversation and drive environmental awareness.Growth & InnovationExplore creative collaborations with influencers, filmmakers, and NGOs.Track digital trends to keep EMAs content fresh and relevant.Help develop EMAs digital brand identity visual tone, motion graphics, intros/outros, and audio signatures.What Youll GainAs a volunteer, youll join EMAs Founding Team not just as a contributor, but as a creative co-builder of Africas next major environmental media brand.You will gain:Founding Recognition: Your name and profile featured across EMA platforms as part of the inaugural leadership cohort.Portfolio Visibility: Showcase your creative leadership across YouTube, podcasts, and digital media outlets viewed across Africa.Professional Growth: Build a versatile media portfolio in sustainability communication, digital storytelling, and brand building.Networking Opportunities: Collaborate with journalists, NGOs, and digital creators across Africas green ecosystem.Future Growth: Full-Time/Co-founder status as EMA scales.Operational Essentials Support:EMA will also provide operational essentials support to assist the candidate in their role:Monthly Internet Data Allowance to support online collaboration and publishing work.Local Transportation Support for interviews, events, or on-the-ground work.Official Email Address & Digital Tools Access (e.g., firstname@enviro360news.com, access to Google Workspace, Canva Pro, Trello, Notion, etc.) to enhance professionalism.Press/Media ID digital or printed credentials for field reporting, events, or outreach.Communication Stipend (Airtime) allowance for calls or coordination when needed.
