Boreal Bioproducts is a biorefinery startup doing hot water extraction on woody side streams and produces new ingredients and chemicals. We are in a need for a feed industry experienced product developer, to help us deliver a new ingredient to our animal feed customers.This position has an end-to-end responsibility for product development and commercialization, includingTrials conducted to obtain claims Technical marketing evidence for market partnersRegulative acceptance Tactical collaboration with new business development We do expect you to have previous experience from the industry as well as capability to independently run the position. With successful commercialization, the role will develop towards business responsibility. Background and skills we look for are in ingredients, biology, organic chemistry, project management, new business development. Boreal is a startup in Metsä Spring's investment portfolio, which secures our backbone in scaling forest industry side streams. We operate a pilot scale plant in Turku (Finland) and have laboratory and office operations in Espoo (Finland). We commercialize softwood based hemicellulose sugars and phenols to various applications in animal feed, leather garments, glues and coatings. Some of our products are sold already for e.g. cosmetics. We have ambitious targets to scale to first-of-it's-kind production factory in 2 years time. At the moment we are a team of 10 and further with student assistance.We expect the position to be close to full time, but also other responsibilities in the company are to be considered based on your profile and fit with Boreal. We have a strong preference for your physical location in Finland, but a large share of the work is possible to be conducted remotely. You obviously need to fully comfortable for the speed and certain uncertainty of the startup world.
