Christmas Island District High School (CIDHS) is an Independent Public School located on Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean, 2,600km north-west of Perth and 360km south of Jakarta. We are the most geographically isolated school in Western Australia.The school first opened in 1937 to service the families of phosphate mine workers, and now caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 12.The school community is culturally diverse. Many families have lived on the island for generations and identify as Malay, Chinese or European. Most recently the school has welcomed students from other parts of the world, including the Cocos Keeling Islands, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and South Africa.Christmas Island District High Schools motto is: To Learn and Grow.
