The new GM, ideally a Romanian top professional, will be responsible for driving local operational excellence, innovation, and efficiency while fostering a collaborative and empowering culture across colleagues from multiple countries and disciplines.The multinational group has a strong, well-established entity in Romania, leading several major projects and being praised for its well-set organizational culture.However, there is always room for improvement, and there is a need for a stronger commercial impulse and alignment with role-model projects and entities across the global organization.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the country’s business development and improvement strategy to enhance efficiency, innovation, and client portfolio growth.Improve delivery KPIs on complex projects.Inspire and develop teams to deliver cutting-edge engineering, design, and consulting solutions.Align local operations with global strategic objectives, ensuring seamless policy and process integration.Drive business expansion through strategic partnerships, regional market development, and client engagement.Mentor regional leaders and emerging talents, building a strong succession pipeline and a high-performance culture.Champion sustainability, safety, and digital innovation across all projects and operations.Represent the region in global leadership forums and contribute to shaping corporate strategy.Profile & ExperienceProven senior leadership experience in engineering, infrastructure, architecture, consulting, or construction industries.Engineering degree (civil, transport, aviation, construction, etc.) is mandatory; an MBA is a plus.Demonstrated success in regional transformation and business growth initiatives, with international work exposure. Experience working abroad in one of the core business domains would be a substantial plus.Strong operational, regulatory, and commercial acumen with experience managing large projects.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Culturally agile and hands-on leader, capable of engaging teams across diverse markets.Fluent in English; additional Eastern European languages are a strong advantage.Availability to start as soon as possible is one of the selection criteria, as is openness to reference checks upon request.Good mobility and willingness to travel frequently are required.The Opportunity – What’s on OfferThe compensation package will be discussed based on the candidate’s profile.The client considers eligible candidates for promotion as well, so there is no strict requirement for prior GM or EE Regional Director experience.
