Role Description

Job Purpose

To support the development and execution of Princes Group plc (‘Princes’) external communications, ensuring messaging effectively reaches multiple stakeholder groups/ targets.

Manage exposure proactively and reactively to minimise negative coverage on issues that arise.

Ensure Princes official and informal written, visual and digital communications and corporate reports deliver a consistent and appropriate message and visual identity.

Dimensions

The Princes Corporate Relations team is currently comprised of four people:

Corporate Relations Director > reports to Chief Executive Officer

Senior Sustainable Sourcing Manager

Ethical Trading & Human Rights Manager

Responsible Sourcing Executive

Corporate Communications Executive (vacant)

Whilst the job holder does not have any direct reports they will interact with, guide and project manage individuals of all levels of seniority across the Group, specifically including the Internal Communications Manager ( HR Department ) and Investor Relations team (Italy)

This will include Princes manufacturing sites, colleagues within RLB, UK, Rotterdam, Mauritius, France, Germany and colleagues within our parent NewPrinces Group in Italy. The CCE will provide cover and act as lead on communication issues for the department during periods the CR Director is out of the office in conjunction with retained Public Relations agency personnel.

The job holder shares team responsibility for adherence to the Corporate Relations cost centre budget on all work matters and will retain a least cost / best value mindset.

The job holder will be a key contact point for Princes main corporate communications agencies and will directly manage issues and opportunities that arise.

These are of critical importance to the Group as include reputational risk as well as company promotion.

Principal Responsibilities

Corporate communications:

Co-develop and execute planned Princes Group communications, ensuring effective reach to all Princes external stakeholders.

Lead the creation process of reactive statements for any media or customers issues that arise which has the potential to impact Princes.

Fully manage the approval process for reactive or proactive comms and ensure statements are made available to the required stakeholders in a timely fashion.

Office and site imagery:

Coordinate and execute plans to ensure all Princes sites represent the Group image, including stationary, signage and displays, commission and oversee updated photography or video assets.

Develop a system to ensure Princes offices and manufacturing sites have the most up to date displays or signage that is available to them.

Corporate website:

Mange the Princes corporate website ( www.princesgroup.com ) and Investor Relations page ensure key messages ( eg new stories ) and imagery are refreshed as required. Work with key functions to ensure appropriate messaging is used for target stakeholders such as future employees or business partners.

Corporate materials:

Manage coordination and production of corporate communication materials such as brochures, presentations, stationery and other materials as required.

Effectively communicate internally the communication tools available and direct teams as to the version that should be used.

Social Media

Take the lead role for managing Princes corporate social media ( excludes brands ) ensuring a planned flow of positive messaging, and tactical as required.

Project management:

To effectively own and manage projects as indicated above which require multi departmental and agency contribution within agreed budgets and timelines.

Stakeholder engagement:

Be able to engage with and present to key customer, trade body, NGO or other external stakeholders and represent the Group in a professional manner.

Food Incident Review Meetings:

Attend all relevant Food Incident Review Meetings (FIRM) and lead the creation of any communication requirements or advise the CR Director of support required.

Role Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Educated to degree level as a minimum, ideally within the fields of communication marketing or public affairs

Excellent project management and organisational skills.

Demonstrable experience is using third party publishing software e.g. Canva, WordPress, Issue

Experience of dealing with a broad portfolio of stakeholders including board level executives, customers and potentially non-government organisations.

Experience of dealing with, or awareness of traditional and new media groups.

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

Ideally, but not essentially, media trained, particular in the discipline of press release management.

Demonstrable experiences that match the main responsibilities of this role.

Self-motivated and able to motivate others.

Strives to identify opportunities for improvement, whilst able to operate within set guidelines.

Ability to work well as part of a wide team, providing leadership and / or support.

Genuine interest in the media and politics is extremely valuable.

Genuine interest in sustainability would be beneficial

Able to communicate effectively in writing or verbally with internal and external stakeholders of all seniority.

Ability and confidence to speak with authority to customer and other stakeholders and represent the Group on a number of topics.
