Job Summary:

The Catering Sales Manager, reporting to the Director of Events & Catering, is responsible for generating and managing catering business for the hotel through proactive sales, exceptional client service, and seamless event coordination. This role oversees the planning, contracting, and execution of weddings, social events, corporate meetings, and special functions, ensuring each event reflects the property’s standards of excellence and hospitality.

Job Duties & Functions:

Proactively solicit and secure new catering businesses through prospecting, networking, site tours, and client entertainment.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.

Conduct detailed event planning, including menu design, floor plans, and logistics coordination in collaboration with culinary, banquet, and operations teams.

Prepare and issue proposals, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) accurately and in a timely manner.

Ensure all event details are communicated effectively to internal departments for seamless execution.

Work closely with clients throughout the planning process, providing creative input and professional guidance on all aspects of the event.

Manage assigned catering revenue goals, average check targets, and client satisfaction scores.

Collaborate with third-party vendors (e.g., décor, audiovisual, floral, and entertainment) to enhance event offerings and ensure quality standards.

Conduct site inspections, tastings, and client meetings to promote the property and confirm event details.

Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client communications using approved CRM systems (Delphi, Envision, or similar).

Monitor market trends and competitive offerings, adjusting sales strategies to maximize profitability and market share.

Participate in daily and weekly sales and operations meetings to communicate upcoming events and key client expectations.

Collaborate with marketing and revenue teams to support promotional initiatives and drive awareness of catering services.

Assist in preparing annual catering sales budgets, forecasts, and performance analyses.

Attend and support key property events, community networking functions, and industry associations to build visibility and business leads.

Approach all guest and client interactions with professionalism, attentiveness, and commitment to exceptional service.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Events & Catering or senior leadership.

Education & Experience:

Minimum 2 years of management experience in a luxury hotel with at least 1 year in Catering / Conference services operations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel sales systems such as Delphi / Envision and Social Tables is a must.

Proficiency in creating BEO’s, floor plans, event design and planning is a must.

Proven success in achieving or exceeding sales goals and managing event revenue streams.

Strong understanding of food and beverage operations and service standards.

Excellent selling, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.

Strong organizational and communication abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

Professional, polished, and service-driven demeanor with a team-oriented mindset.

Ability to read, write and converse in English.

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business demands.
