Your ResponsibilitiesWrite a doctoral dissertation within the structured doctoral programme at the University of Graz; conduct independent research in General and Systematic Educational Science (Pedagogy)Collaborate on research projects at the Department of Educational Science in the field of General and Systematic Educational SciencePublish in peer-reviewed outlets and present your work at academic conferencesTeach independently (1,5 contact hours per week; of 1.5 SWS) per semester; contribute to teaching and assessment tasks at the Department (design, administer and grade examiniations)Provide academic advising/mentoring to students and support the supervision of student projects/theses as appropriateEngage in continuing professional developement in university teaching and learning, including digtial/online pedagogy and learning technologiesContribute to organisational and administrative tasks and to evaluation/quality-assurance activities at the DepartmentHelp organize conferences and other scholary exchange formats (z.B. workshops, symposia, lecture series)Assist with the preparation of application for externally funded projects (third-party funded)Your ProfileCompleted university degree in Educational Science (diploma, master's degree) with an excellent academic record; eligible for admission to a doctoral programmeDemonstrated expertise or strong interest in at least one of the following areas: history of ideas, social history , conceptual history, philosophy/theory of science (as related to education), fundational concepts and traditions in educational thought (General and Systematic Educational Science/Pedagogy), theories of education, theories of subjectification, theory of Bildung and philosphy of eduationAbility to work independently and proactively, combined with strong teamwork and organizational skillsExcellent command of German and English (spoken and written) and the ability to communicate clearly in both.
