Job Description Summary:
The Assistant Vice President, Events is a key driver behind some of GW’s high-profile and strategic events. This role brings together executive leaders, senior volunteers, distinguished alumni, and campus partners to create memorable experiences that advance the university’s mission. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Engagement & Annual Giving, you will help shape events that reflect institutional priorities, strengthen high-level relationships, and showcase GW at its best.
The Assistant Vice President, Events
- Will be the most senior events position at the University
- An executive position at the university that, in addition to leading a major function at the organization, has enterprise-wide scope and leads and manages the staff of the unit to strategically accomplish university goals
Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 10 years of relevant professional experience, Master’s degree, or higher, in a relevant area of study preferred. Relevant experience must include at least 2 years of senior leadership/executive level experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
