About the role
Reporting to Senior Management and the CEO, we are seeking an experienced insurance professional to join our team as Assistant Manager – Personal Lines (P&C). The ideal candidate will hold a recognized insurance qualification (CII) or possess equivalent industry experience, with strong technical insurance knowledge across local and/or international markets. This role supports the management, servicing, and retention of the Personal Lines Property & Casualty portfolio and department. The position focuses on client servicing, technical accuracy, claims support, producer services, and management assistance, while working under the direction of Senior Management and the CEO. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to support, guide, and mentor junior staff are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and service personal lines portfolio that may include commercial lines clients at an exceptional level.
Provide insurance technical advice, policy administration, and support for new and existing clients.
Provide placement and servicing of personal lines Property & Casualty insurance policies.
Provide referrals to other business lines, including health insurance, where appropriate.
Act as a point of contact for assigned clients and respond to service requests in a timely manner.
Provide initial claims advice and assistance to clients.
Liaise with the in-house claims team in support of claims resolution that may include more complex matters under the guidance from senior management.
Develop and maintain business relationships with local and overseas insurers as well as underwriters.
Review policy documents, endorsements, and confirmations for technical accuracy.
Negotiate client policies and portfolios utilizing established underwriting guidelines.
Prepare and deliver insurance presentations for prospective portfolios and institutional partners.
Assist with the administration and ongoing management of a Lloyd’s binder, including adherence to binder authority, documentation standards, and reporting requirements.
Provide managerial support and assistance to the property & casualty team.
Support workflow coordination, quality control, and adherence to internal audit procedures.
Support the management of new recruitment onboarding, guidance, and training.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental objectives and service standards.
What you Bring
Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience with an insurance broker or insurer, including local and/or international insurance placements.
At least 3–5 years’ experience providing management support, supervision, and/or serving in a senior technical role within the insurance industry.
Demonstrated high performance in property and casualty insurance, including client and relationship building.
Good working knowledge of insurance products, policy wordings, binders, and audit requirements.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Relevant insurance qualifications/licenses or equivalent industry experience.
What we offer
Competitive salary in the range of CI$72,000 to CI$ 96,000 per annum depending on experience, health insurance, pension, 20-days’ vacation, eligible for an annual bonus.
